Randy Edsall Football Camp Philosophy

The Randy Edsall Football Camp is designed to teach campers the football skills and techniques needed to maximize individual ability. The Varsity Camps will stress fundamentals, as well as team segments. These camps will be both demanding and fun, with an end result of improved football skills and the ability to work as an effective member of a team.
Camp Sessions

   The Randy Edsall Football Camp will once again be offering 2 sessions of Varsity Camp. This camp is a four-day, three-night camp designed for young men entering grades 9-12. The first session runs from Sunday, June 22 through Wednesday, June 25, 2008 and the second session runs from Thursday, June 26 through Sunday, June 29, 2008 . During the four day period, campers will benefit from both individual and team instruction, as well as specialist and video teaching, and strength and speed improvement. Campers will also participate in a “County Fair” where teams compete against each other in events such as tug-of-war and agility obstacle course. 7-on-7 competitions will also be a main focus of this camp as teams compete for camp championship honors, while the lineman participate in Razzle Dazzle competitions with championship games concluding on the last day of camp.

   The 7-on-7 One Day Tournament will consist of High School Teams Only with a maximum of 24 Teams.

   The Rising Seniors camp will consist of High School Seniors Only.
Facilities

The Randy Edsall Football Camp has exclusive use of UConn's three, full-length grass practice fields. The two hilltop fields received a $900,000 renovation in the summers of 2002 and 2003 and feature new lighting, sod, fencing, and expanded space. In addition the camps will utilize the 85,000 square foot Mark R. Shenkman Training Center. Featuring a 120-yard long state-of-the-art FieldTurf playing surface, 18,000 square foot strength and conditioning area, and state-of-the-art video capabilities, the indoor training center provides the most technologically advanced training equipment.
IMPORTANT

Per Connecticut State Law, any camper who brings medication with him or needs medication to be administered to him (including Tylenol, Epipen, Inhaler, etc.) during camp must have his doctor complete the following form. Please make sure this form is filled out completely and return it to the Randy Edsall Football Camp with his physical.
